ABOUT TRACY MAZELIN

tracyI was born in England and raised in Nottingham - famous for Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest! I am a typical English girl and love Cadbury's chocolate, PG-Tips (tea), mushy peas on my chips, and a good English Sunday roast! When I was 18, I left England to spend a year on the island of Malta which is in the heart of the Mediterranean. While living on this island, I fell down some stairs and broke my leg! An American missionary family took me in and allowed me to live with them while I recovered. This family changed my life! Their dedication to the work they were doing and their devotion to God influenced me to want to know the Bible for myself and through them I got to come to the USA in search of a Bible College. I found a small school out in the middle of no-where and fell in love with the atmosphere and focus of Frontier School of the Bible in LaGrange, WY. I spent three years at the school and met my husband Mike there also. We then transferred to Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, MO where I earned my Bachelors degree in Computer Education.

Mike and I returned to the island of Malta to do missionary work for little over a year. We have three energetic sons and have since settled in Scotts, Michigan. I am on staff at two local churches as the Webmaster and Lead Database Administrator - Lake Center Bible Church and The Bridge Ministries.

my background in web design

I launched my first website in 1996 back when dinosaurs roamed the earth! It was a personal information site where I posted pictures of my travels for my family and friends to keep up with me. I received a lot of compliments on the site and this lead to other small projects. However, it wasn't until 10 years later in 2006 when I was asked to attend a web site meeting at my church did my passion for web site development flourish. I was tasked with building a new web presence for Lake Center and I dived into all kinds of books on HTML, CSS, and PHP. The end product was www.lakecenter.org.

Since then, I have continued learning and I'm currently enrolled in two classes at a local community college - Advanced Web Design & Javascript. I am also actively learning HTML5, CSS3, JQuery and iPhone Application Development. Check out my blog for more information.
